MORNING (a poem) by Isaac Alesh Melchizedek

The morning glories

on the wet

elephant grass

is dripping

down

&

down

from leaf to leaf

in search of a home

or death,

Nearby,

a grasshopper

is flying

from grass to grass

With death by its side.

We belong to yester-years,

They belong to us.
